5 Class Hours

Instructor: David Nowling

Why this course is important:

“The enemy of excellence is just good enough.” Does this mantra resonate with you? Your bank? Have you ever thought that every day you go to work is an interview for your next position of responsibility?

This course will explore strategies for leaders to harness the strengths of their team to maximize the performance of the bank. The course will leverage the work from the Culture and the Risk Management projects to help drive your organization for the future. By the end of the session, each student will develop three to five impactful statements to lead your organization. Each student’s mindset for this course should be “excellence begins and ends with me.”

Key takeaways of this course:

  • Pursue a Standard of Excellence: Challenge the mindset of “just good enough” by striving for personal and organizational excellence in leadership.
  • Lead with Intentionality: Recognize that every day is an opportunity to demonstrate readiness for greater responsibility.
  • Maximize Team Strengths: Learn strategies to harness the capabilities of your team to drive peak performance at your bank.
  • Apply Cultural & Risk Insights: Leverage lessons from previous Culture and Risk Management projects to shape your organization’s future.
  • Create Actionable Leadership Statements: Walk away with 3–5 personalized, impactful leadership statements to guide your approach and inspire your team.
