Why this course is important:
To remain competitive in the current banking environment, community bank leaders must hone their ability to inspire confidence, manage perceptions, and project a clear vision to internal and external stakeholders. The highest-performing banks create a culture led by individuals who embody the institution’s values and motivate followership. Successful community bank leaders must engage in authentic and highly communicative leadership to retain quality talent, establish trust, and clearly articulate strategic plans. Ultimately, executive presence is the key factor that elevates financial leaders from back-office roles to influential business partners.
This course on Executive Presence will focus on bringing awareness, understanding, and application of social power among community bank leaders. Executive Presence determines one’s access to opportunities and directly impacts one’s ability to influence others. The course will use the 7 Cs of Executive Presence (composure, connection, charisma, confidence, credibility, clarity and conciseness) as the foundation upon which specific strategies and contexts (team decision-making and giving/receiving feedback) will be applied and practiced throughout the week.
Key takeaways of this course:
- Appreciate the power of executive presence to effectively connect with, inspire, and influence internal and external stakeholders
- Identify and understand the role of executive presence and its components
- Demonstrate executive presence skills during team decision-making in the banking industry
