Ellen McCoy Sharp is a Vice President and Assistant General Counsel at Fifth Third Bank, National Association, supporting Middle Market Commercial Lending, Supply Chain Finance, and International Lending transactions.
Before joining Fifth Third Bank, Ellen spent ten years at Central Bank & Trust Co. as a Senior Vice President, providing general legal counsel and supervising the bank’s special assets, loan review and loan processing departments. In that role, Ellen oversaw loan documentation processes, monitoring of the bank’s loan portfolio for credit quality issues and the management and disposition of troubled loans and other non-performing assets. Ellen was the primary contact for the bank’s regulators and auditors on asset quality issues and worked with outside counsel on collections, general litigation and regulatory compliance. Before that, Ellen practiced law with the Lexington, Kentucky, office of Frost Brown Todd LLC, where she practiced in the area of creditors’ rights, commercial and consumer foreclosure, bankruptcy law, commercial litigation, real estate law and general creditor/debtor issues.
Ellen is a graduate of Rollins College and earned both her M.A. and J.D. degrees from the University of Kentucky. She graduated with honors from GSBC in 2018.
