These events, taking place on July 14, 17 and 22, will immerse students in cutting-edge insights from the most influential voices in the industry, reinforcing GSBC’s commitment to shaping the future of community banking.
Monday, July 14: American Bankers Association’s Paul Benda on Fraud & Cyber Risks
In this timely and critical session, Paul Benda, Executive Vice President of Risk, Fraud and Cybersecurity at the American Bankers Association (ABA), will provide a high-level update on the most pressing fraud and cyber risks facing the industry today.
Gain insight into the newest tactics used in check and wire fraud and discover just how convincing modern “deep fake” technology can be – yes, even imitating voices you trust. In addition to real-world examples, Benda will highlight the latest tools, strategies and collaborative industry efforts aimed at combatting these fast-evolving threats.
As an added feature, second- and third-year students enrolled in the Committed to Lead micro-credential will have the unique opportunity to hear a firsthand account of a real cyberattack. During CEO Perspectives, GSBC alumnus and trustee Dan Robb, President & CEO of Jonesburg State Bank in Jonesburg, MO, will share how his institution was targeted, and how he led his team through the crisis.
Thursday, July 17: Independent Community Bankers Association of America’s ThinkTECH Returns to Boulder
For the second year in a row, GSBC students will have an exclusive opportunity to attend the Independent Community Bankers Association (ICBA) ThinkTECH Accelerator Program Showcase. This event will highlight innovative solutions from companies revolutionizing community banking, covering key areas such as artificial intelligence, financial health and wellness, subscription management, digital onboarding and compliance – key tools that support community banks nationwide.
As leaders in community banking, students will have a front-row seat to witness groundbreaking solutions designed to foster innovation and improve how community banks serve their customers and teams.
Tuesday, July 22: The Resilient Leader with Daniel Hood
Daniel Hood, a seasoned visionary with more than 20 years of experience in leadership, will share with the student body game-changing strategies for building resilience and leading with confidence.
Students will:

- Learn self-regulation techniques to stay composed and effective under pressure
- Explore evidence-based strategies for sustaining long-term leadership success
