Quentin Leighty, chief financial officer and president of First National Bank’s Northern El Paso County market in Colorado, has been elected chair of the Graduate School of Banking at Colorado (GSBC) Alumni Association.
Leighty has been with First National Bank of Las Animas since 2005. In addition to serving as chief financial officer and president, he is a director of the bank and its holding company.
Leighty graduated from the Montfort College of Business at the University of Northern Colorado in 2002 and GSBC with honors in 2008. He currently serves as a board director for Bankers’ Bank of the West, as a director for Independent Community Bankers of America (ICBA) and chairman of the Policy Development Committee of the ICBA and as a Federal Delegate Board member for ICBA. Additionally, he serves as chairman of the Independent Bankers of Colorado.
“Quentin is a consequential leader in his bank and for the industry,” said GSBC President Michael Stevens. “The industry will be well served by his knowledge and passion for community banking.”
Leighty succeeds Christie Huber Obenauer, president and chief executive officer of Union State Bank in Hazen, N.D., as the board’s chair and will represent the Alumni Association on the GSBC Board of Trustees.
