Michael Stevens is the president of the Graduate School of Banking at Colorado (GSBC). He was appointed to this position by the Board of Trustees in November 2020 and officially became the president of GSBC on August 1, 2021. Mike is responsible for the curriculum and overall direction of all GSBC programs. Working with an experienced team, he leads the school’s marketing strategy, financial management and corporate governance. Mike serves as a member of the GSBC Board of Trustees.
Prior to GSBC, Stevens served as the senior executive vice president at the Conference of State Bank Supervisors (CSBS) where he was responsible for leading the organization’s government relations, communications and professional development functions. Stevens also served as the principal deputy to the state banking member of the Financial Stability Oversight Council.
Mike is a frequent instructor and speaker on banking policy, examinations and financial analysis and has served on the faculty of GSBC since 2004. He began his regulatory career as a bank examiner for the Iowa Division of Banking, where he served 11 years.
Mike is a graduate of the University of Nebraska at Omaha. He lives in Leland, North Carolina with his wife Becki and has two adult children.
